Bears and cougars

I thought a cougar was an older woman looking for love in all the wrong places. I was happy to walk in the 800 year old cedar and Douglas fir forest until I saw the warning signs for black bears and Cougars.  I am a fast walker. The trick is to not try to outrun the bear just make sure you are faster than the person with you.
We went to Port Alberni and had dinner on the wharf. It looks like a very Canadian fishing town. The architecture is a cross between alpine and Scandawegian. It must be peculiar to this area. Port Alberni had a large tsunami in 1964? Possibly from Anchorage / Alaska.
Jane and Howard are great company and a lot of laughs.
They found an ice cream store with flavours like sea salt and caramel, pecan, sherbert, peanut butter and something or other. We are so conservative.
They constantly take the Michael Angelo out of my accent and I have to define the meaning of words because they hear something quite different.
We had a farm visit today to on a lifestyle block Canadian style. The children and partners of the adults attending the course were also invited. It was a hot afternoon and very relaxed. I do like Canada.
I met a Mexican couple who had visited NZ 12 years ago on their honeymoon. They liked Christchurch city. Mmmm didn't we all?
There were some deer on the side of the highway which I missed completely because I was looking for bears and Cougars. Typical.
