This is the view of the backyard at breakfast in Saint John not St. John. Oops. Yes the deer were right there. The deer have become a problem as urbanisation has driven them from their habitat and they roam in suburbia. They all almost anything so vege, fruit and flower gardens are just deer fodder. A friend of Jane's said that a doe and her fauns or what I like to call, doelings??? Wander onto her deck and eat anything there too.Later we drove, because we couldn't be bothered walking just down the road and that's the view from Jane's friend's house on the river. It is the Kennebecasis River which is also partly sea water as it flows into an inlet. I think it's to do with the Bay of Fundy or I might have made that up. Beautiful warm day.
We leave very early tomorrow for the Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia adventure.
The challenge is to get 5 days worth of clothing into a small suitcase and I do mean small. I have made it with the help of my camera, handbag and 2 little extra bags. Tsk tsk. Marian, Jane's mum, Joyce her sister -in -law, Jane and moi are going on a road trip . It will be a laugh as I have met Joyce before and she's lovely. Joyce owns a preschool.
3 hours on the ferry tomorrow to start the trip then to Halifax.
I feel we need some head banging heavy metal or acid rock to fuel the car trip.
The houses here are gorgeous. I think they are Cape Cod, Cape Breton, Maine, style with a maritime flavour. There are a lot of mansions here too. I saw a huge mansion that sold for $400k on the river front. House prices are about 1/3 of ours event taking the $ into account. Crazy. Calgary was a lot more expensive and a little more in line with us.
And so the day ends. It's hot and muggy. Isaiah turned 14 yesterday so he'll be older when I get home too.
I saw a squirrel! First one ever.
