Sitting still for pretty much 5 hours straight is tough. My heart goes out to everyone who thinks they have or may be incubating ADD. By the time I have tapped, swung my feet, shifted paper, rocked, swayed and jiggled, I am done.
After the course today Howard drove us about 2 1/2 hours to Tofino on the Pacific Rim. It's the same ocean that we can paddle in in Pegasus Bay. It sorta looked like that too. It had all the elements: water, sand, waves, people and even a slightly chilly breeze.
Despite all the warnings to the contrary we never saw one piece of evidence of wildlife except for a bear holding a sign about coffee and one wearing a pink t shirt outside a gallery.
Maybe that's what bears do around here.
Tofino is a fishing village and it was just like the movies and picture books from my childhood. I think it can also be wild frontier but yesterday it was lovely.
Jane had a very big eagle swoop low over her head and I was photo bombed by a Native American lad who thought it was hilarious.
We watched the float planes take off and land. Great job for Daniel except he can't go as we would miss the family.
There were some Native American art galleries which we didn't have time to explore and a bulldog who hit a balloon with his nose as entertainment for tourists. Bulldogs are the slick athletes of the canine world and he was breathing so hard I thought that he would have a stroke. When he leapt to hit the balloon he covered everyone in slobber within a 100metre radius
