Oops

I'll fix the blog when I can get reliable internet connection. I can see it is all skewing but can't get in to fix it.

We had a lovely picnic at Rathtrevor Beach Park last night.  We had a couple of social occasions and got to meet people on the course; some I had met before in Montreal or had completed online study with them last year. People on the course who had their families present brought their children too. Some have travelled from New York, Miami, Denmark, Germany and Russia..last day of the cource today and we move on to Calgary by road tomorrow. I will make a wild attempt to upload some pics from Tofino but it took 2 hours to upload 20 last night and I can see by the state of the blog that they are not resized.
Another beautiful day but they are desperate for rain here as many wells have run dry.
The course was brilliant and it was lovely to meet Gordon and his wife and family. A lot of the learning this time was around adult attachment and relationships. There has been so much that will be useful to take back to school. I'm proud of how hard our teachers work to make sure that the children get a chance to learn and to develop as human beings. I'm not a fan of behaviourism as I know it doesn't have the long term effect needed to make change. It's easier but has so little effect. I'm sticking to attachment theory because we have seen the positive effects at school in some very difficult and sad children. A lot of the examples he chose were Biblical as there are very strong parallels to the values and principles of attachment theory. So be it. There were lots of Buddhists and alternative belief people on the course and they did not raise an eyebrow because it all makes so much sense. Unpacking the symptoms of a child's or adults behaviours is tricky and finding the starting point for remediation and confronting the sadness and loss is quite tricky. But it does have to be the starting point for getting children and adults unstuck. It parallels the work of Brainwaves in brain physiology and the work of Living Wisdom.
