yesterday we headed off early to the fishing tourist town of St Andrew . It was raining and the traffic was typical "going to work stuff." The Tacoma truck in front of us in the other lane suddenly swerved out, fish tailed, careered across the lanes towards us, hit the guard rail, became airborne and barrel rolled in the air and down the slope into the trees. It landed upside down. We screamed to a stop and ran back. Another young man beat us to it and slid down the bank and reassured us that the female driver was conscious and talking. Phew. She needs to put her faith in God because I cannot imagine how she survived. We were held up for sometime waiting for the police, fire dept and ambulance to arrive. When they got her out of the truck she walked up the hill with a bit of assistance. Unbelievable. The traffic behind us was backed up to Alaska.
We trucked on a bit more reflective than we had been and spent a lovely day in St Andrew fishing village. There are boutique shops and lots of excursions for whale watching etc.
It was hot again. I cannot look at a farmers market or street market without hearing Anita's comments ringing in my ears. It's so true though. So much is junk. An old sweaty man was selling vegan food. I washed him shovel it out with his bare paws and then wipe his face and nose with his hands and dip right back in the trough again. My gag reflex kicks in and no doubt he heard me heaving. Mmmm sweat, boogers and vegan. A healthy diet.
somewhere in the day I lost my gold chain that Daniel and Allie bought me while they were in Scotland. I was pretty upset about that but as we went to so many places I don't know where to start looking. Jane will make some phone calls today to see if anyone found it.
We were at an art gallery last night so it could even be there.
Jane is determined to go back to the motorway and search for the chain at the scene of the accident. No doubt we'll cause another accident by wandering along the motorway.
After supper we visited Jane's friend on the banks of the Kennebecasis River in a gorgeous house with a magnificent view. The sunset went from yellow and orange to pink and violet. She made several dips and then a delicious maple version of creme brûlée. Once again we waddled home.
We've eaten out every day at least once because when you are travelling you don't get much choice. I've saladed and drunk water. Home food is always best.
Another day gone and many blessings beside. Thank you God for your protection on the highway. I simply was not dressed for heaven.
